Opening Night - and last day of packing in!
Today is the day. We are 100% tweaking to get ready for the Opening Night of The Stronger Christchurch BUSKER COMEDY CLUB - the famous night show where you get to sample a sample of the best street performers in the world! Check here for the timetable. $2 entry only, 7pm tonight at BUSKER PARK!
And here is the Stoneleigh GARDEN BAR - double sided and open from 2pm that will serve you drinks (responsibly of course)!

Day Seven: Progressing!
Two more sleeps till Opening Night, and we are on schedule! This post is coming live and direct from BUSKER PARK - on WIFI supplied by Telecom just for the Stronger Christchurch WORLD BUSKERS FESTIVAL. Cha cha!

Day Six: Rest Day on Site (well kind of)
Sunday - the day of rest! It is really peaceful down at the park today - albeit a persistent wind! The MORE FM Markets are up - ready to house some interesting wares in between shows at BUSKER PARK.
Le Tigre Bleu tent continues to take a bespoke and feline shape. We won’t show you inside until it is totally finished! The lucky 52 people who get to see these daily shows are going to flip their lids!
And the Stronger Christchurch BUSKER COMEDY CLUB inches closer and closer to resuming the club of old…

Day Four: Packing the Street into BUSKER PARK
Whilst we’ve lost some of our central city streets here in Christchurch temporarily, we’ve managed to bring the ‘streets’ to the park - ensuring our street performers feel right at home.
And check out this wee cutie that popped up today. When fully created, its going to be LE TIGRE BLEU: home of ”a safari of wild vaudevillians, savage side shows and exotic entertainment.”
Looking forward to seeing that at full throttle!
Day Three: Couple of New Features For You…
Feature #1: Brand new for ‘the buskers’ on day three of the mega pack-in is what we call the ‘truss cube’. Its going to greet you with pretty pictures on arrival to BUSKER PARK. Our friends at AC Lighting have made a slick job of it!
The Rugby World Cup Trophy in the background is a feature from that other event that took place in NZ, 2011. You know - the one that we won, and got almost as much hype as the Stronger Christchurch WORLD BUSKERS FESTIVAL will!?

Once you come down to BUSKER PARK you’ll realise that we have ‘a thing’ for fence wrap. Well - ‘the thing’ got pretty focused for wrapping up Hirepool’s Port-a-loos. We thought they needed their own little shout-out! Those loos served ‘some time’ for the Christchurch community in 2011. They deserve some respect!
Day Two: Stages and stages, and stages, and stages, and stages and stages…
BUSKER PARK is coming together with PACE! Here’s a progress report from the ‘great pack-in’ - Day Two:

And this, our friends, is the Stronger Christchurch BUSKER COMEDY CLUB stage. Slowly but surely, piece by piece, scaffold by scaffold…..
And the beginning elements of the Tui Birdcage Bar arrived. I do believe that stage in the foreground is a ‘dance floor’ for the Back Up Dancers ‘DON’T CHA WISH’ TOUR - on every night at ‘Happy Hour’ (from 6pm - 8pm). I have heard a rumour that it may even light up. Tweet Tweet!
Day One: We’re Packing in BUSKER PARK
Today we moved ourselves in to North Hagley Park - and started turning it into ‘BUSKER PARK…’
This oasis will become the world famous - Stronger Christchurch BUSKER COMEDY CLUB. Believe it or not! It will look just like the stage and set up at the Arts Centre. Well, without the blue stone historic buildings. The Wau Wau Sisters will MC every night - introducing a different talent line-up from the festival. $2 entry….
And I believe that is the Coca Cola STAGE forming right before our eyes…Free all day of course.

Yellow and Magenta - taking over the city…
Its on…We’re gearing up for the biggest ‘buskers’ yet with only 21 days to go! And what better way to start the countdown than our very own yellow and magenta flags adding to the colour of Christchurch’s Re:Start Cashel Mall. Super stuff. (Check out the show pony seagull).
And of course, no show without a lot of punch! These guys are featuring too. Life size!
We can’t wait to January….
